Choosing Raw Client Testimonials

by Gena on September 29, 2009

Happy Tuesday!

I was happy to see that chocomole got the enthusiastic bloggie response it deserves! Some of you have already written in to say that you’ve made and loved it. Well, keep it up: that recipe deserves every bit of adoration it gets. And if you’re not into chocolate–though if you aren’t, I offer you my deepest condolences–check out my lemon chiffon pudding, too.

As you know, raw foods aren’t just a part of my own lifestyle. They’re a part of my professional life, too. As a nutritional counselor with an emphasis in raw foods, I help people of all lifestyles use raw and plant based foods to feel healthier and more positive. My clients run the full gamut of dietary perspectives (omnivores, vegetarians, vegans, food allergies), and I don’t impose raw foods or veganism on any of them; instead, I encourage them to think of raw, plant-based foods as tools in achieving well-being. Most of my clients find that unprocessed, plant based foods help them to rethink unhealthy habits and addictions, to get in touch with improved eating habits, to quit snacking and binging, and to identify their emotional triggers with food. Raw foods aren’t an end goal, in other words: they form an entranceway into an cleaner, healthier, and happier way of being.

As much as I love to help my clients, I find that my clients also help me. They give me cool recipe ideas (hello, carrot fries); they help me to refine my nutritional perspective; they enhance my knowledge base; and, most importantly, they inspire me with their courage.

Recently, I asked a handful of my clients to share testimonials with me about their experience with Choosing Raw counseling, and they were kind enough to oblige. I’ve posted their comments in a new testimonials tab at the top of my page. These comments have touched me deeply, and it’s my hope that they’ll give you insight into the kind of work I do and how I do it (you’ll see at least two friendly blog faces in the crowd!). If they aren’t enough, you can also check out my new tab, “Is Choosing Raw for You,” which describes the kind of conditions I work best with.

I hope you’ll all take a second or two to read the very kind words that my clients have shared with me about their experiences. And as always, if you’re interested in my counseling services, please email me at Gena@choosingraw.com for more information about my rates and services.

I’m honored to be a part of the “Client Testimonials” section. You are a true miracle-worker and a top-notch counselor, dear Gena! I’m living proof that your services and advice are sound.

I’m so not a sappy person, (heck I’ve even had a friend tell me I’m a “bad hugger”) but seriously tears started welling up in my eyes as I read these testimonials. While I can relate to the struggles of many, I cannot relate to having a person in my life sooo helpful and understanding as you are to your clients. I must say that simply following your blog has helped my own lifestyle. You Rock!

Hi Gena, even though we only had one phone sesh, I really valued chatting with you. And the email follow-up you sent to me was worth it’s weight in gold. I consider myself pretty far along on the raw and vegan journey, but I am plagued with food sensitives, so it was nice to hear your thoughts for extra recipes for my very physically active lifestyle. If you ever need a testimonial from me, I’d be happy to sing your praises :)

another alternative to the lovely array of pudding options we have from this website is using avocado, dates, and lime to make key lime pie :)

I love the testimonials! Your blog has helped me SO much as well. I’m so glad I found it when I did, too. I think I may e-mail you soon about counseling, a more personalized plan may be just what I need to fully jump on the raw bandwagon, so to speak. I’ve been vegan for nearly 3 years (and counting) but I really do want to be high raw.. a select few cooked foods and candida keeps setting me back, however. Mostly I just want to be in the best health possible and have high energy levels for fitness and my oh-so-busy life of a college student, haha.

Anyway, you are awesome :) It’s no wonder that you get such great feedback/responses. And I’m now following you on Twitter too, yay!

What a coincidence! I was just considering e-mailing you about counseling today. I’d already asked in the past if it was right for me, but funds were a bit tight. They still are, but it might be totally worth it despite that (especially since a big part of the reason is my grocery bill).

These testimonials say it all – you’re awesome! Thanks so much for this blog :D

Though you’ve never officially “counseled” me, I know every word your clients say is true. I really hope you are able to find a bigger way to help more people heal through raw foods…it is your purpose.

I also had a nice chuckle at the “she doesn’t make me juice” line. ;)

I ditto everything Veggie Girl said – it was an honor for me to be a part of your client testimonials and I meant every word I said. I have taken more out of our sessions than I have over the 5 therapists I’ve worked with in my past. I hope you continue to help others the way you’ve helped me. Thank you Gena! You are a shining star. :)

I’m not surprised at all about the wonderful reactions and testimonials to your counseling – you seem to be such a motivated and inspirational person, which is definitely a characteristic of a great counselor, and educator in the raw food ‘business’. I absolutely adore your blog and everything about it, and I know many others do too :)

Awww those testimonials are great! Your blog has been a huge inspiration to me the past few months as I get my feet wet in the raw world. I don’t know if I would have been interested in eating raw if it wasn’t for you. I love love love your blog!

Clearly, this is perfect timing because I am passing along a blog award to you. Check it out here http://www.lettucelove.com/2009/09/kreativ-blogs/

Just read all the testimonials. Very cool Gena. From what I’ve read, (and already knew), you are truly helping people. Keep up the amazing work. :)

Hi Gena

What a beautiful thing to share. You can be so proud of your work and the way you are able to reach out to and help others. A lot of people may have the good intention of helping others, but not everyone has the gift to truly connect that you seem to possess.

So all more I will add, is keep up the fantastic work :)
