Long time reader, but first time poster. Those labels themselves are simply divine! I can’t get over how simple, yet beautiful they are.

  2. That chocolate looks good.
Kudos for being mentioned in the latest issue of VegNews.

  3. Wow what a great post! I agree that there are soooo many little niche chocolatiers popping up and it’s almost a dizzying array. And being none of them are cheap, I hate it when I buy something with the highest hopes and then am kinda….meh. about it.

In the non-raw chocolate realm, I agree that Scharffen Berger is excellent. However, it’s mail order only. Or for me it is. Not that Fine & Raw wouldnt be too but it’s nice to know they exist..and also your friend Vanessa.

A few months ago on my blog I reviewed some eco/green/friendly choc and other products by the name of Equal Exchange. It’s great to see other people in on the action, and also admitting when they’re not perfect too.

Thx for the great post and now you dont have to eat all those 3 Muskateers & Butterfingers I know you have stashed for Halloween. Kiddding!!!!!!!!! :)

    Happy H’Ween Miss Gena!!

    xoxo

  4. yummmmm! That looks great!

P.S. I really like the Green & Black brand too.

  5. It ain’t called the food of the gods for nothin’!

Girlfriend, you and are on the same wavelength. This chocolate connoisseur gave a shout out to Fine and Raw on In The Raw Wednesday.

Straight up and dark is how I like mine! :D

  6. Um, did someone say chocolate???

I’ve gotten so many chocolate samples that I need to review… must get busy sampling! What a hard task, no?

Ooh stogo: Never been, so I’m excited to hear about it, as I’ve only heard good things.

    Love,
    Katie

  7. We love chocolate as well. We could eat it at every meal~ :) Ok … maybe not… it was a nice thought. Thanks for sharing about Fine and Raw chocolate. Sounds like a great company with a great chocolate product!! Looks good… we will keep a look out for it at any of our local stores. :) Have a good weekend!

  8. Ian

Sounds great! I will definitely order some soon :D

  9. Pass the chocolate this way! :) I saw them when I went to stogo, but I was so high on sugar from the hemp and coconut ice cream, I couldn’t think about anything else! I will have to check them out next time I go. Or they can just send me some as well! Hahahah!

  10. Great review! I hadn’t seen this brand before but, as I”m sure you remember from our trip to Boston, I’m always up for trying new wonderful chocolates. And I can’t get over how adorable the packaging is!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and a very happy Halloween :)

  11. oh… these look amazing… I really like their packaging, fine and green! :) I can’t wait to try them!

  12. You’re killing me here!! But I like it since it’s chocolate :-D

  13. I might beat you in a love for chocolate. I can’t wait to hear more about Stogo! I’m obsessed with that place. I’ll have to pick up some of this chocolate next time I’m there. :-)

  14. That packaging and chocolate looks amazing, I must try. Thanks!

  15. I have been in such a chocolate rut recently. I liked Green and Blacks for a while but the soy is not that cool. I hope our local co-op gets their hands on Fine and Raw asap. Great review. Happy Friday :)

  16. I am obsessed with dark chocolate since I started getting more raw in my diet and totally credit it for making the transition so fun. I really want to try raw chocolate, though, since they say it’s a totally different experience.

  17. Wow that looks delicious. I love Green and Blacks, but love how smooth and ‘clean’ good organic chocolate is. I can’t imagine this brand.

  18. Hi Gena!
Wow that chocolate looks almost too good to eat – the wrapping is absolutely stunning!!! I am going to have to try and get my hands on some of that – I hope they ship to Canada :) I am also a huge fan of Green&Black and they actually have 85% at my health food store so I always have it in stock at home :)
    Have a great weekend!
    xoxo

  19. I love the wrapping. I’m not a raw foodist or a chocolate lovah (gasp)–but a close friend of mine just went raw and is in withdrawal from “good chocolate.” I’ll definitely e-mail her this post :)

  20. You’re killing me here Gena! Ugh, those look sooogoood. I love the packaging too!

I have been completely converted to dark, organic, cacao chocolate after Green and Black and Endangered Species chocolate. I had a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup a few weeks back at my parents house and it tasted GA-ROSS! Gross! I’ve discovered chocolate, as with any food, deserves to be the highest quality we can find! :)

  21. Any company that believes the world is beautiful is worth my time :) Love it love it. Thanks for the review friend friend

  22. Wow, Fine & Raw sounds like it lives up to its name. I might just have to tell Santa to put some of these in my stocking this year:)

  23. AMAZING post! I wish I could try this beautiful chocolate. Chocolate is my absolute favorite thing, never does a day go by without me eating at least 2 or 3 hunks of delicious dark chocolate. These pictures are stunning and have my mouth watering SO much. Next time I go back to the states I will definitely have to order some.

  24. Wow, I’d love to try this chocolate, it looks and sounds incredible! And those bon bons? Heeeeello!

It was great running into you yesterday! Looking forward to our lunch date when things are less hectic. xoxo

  25. Dude, I haven’t even had breakfast yet. What are you trying to do to me?

  26. Babycakes

    Hey Gena,

I was wondering about your opinion of the chocolate larabars (jocolat). I believe they are organic and 70% raw. Do you ever eat those? I am curious about your assessment of them as a raw vegan.

    Happy Halloween! :)

  27. Rachel

Unfortunately the Endangered Species chocolate is not soy free.

“All of our products contain soy lecithin. Click here for ingredient statements for each of our products.” http://www.chocolatebar.com/nutrition1.asp

I wish it were because it’s marvelous and I love their mission.

  28. Wow. This is impressive, girl! So glad you shared it with us. Chocolate is fantabulous, but it’s even better when it’s raw and healthy and delicious. Yay! :-D

Love the company’s name and adore that they’re eco-friendly as well!

We want the planet to be strong so it can grow more chocolate. Yum yum! <— From Fine & Raw’s mission statement. That’s RAWsome!!!

  29. also last i checked they also sell at both Brooklyn Flea Markets (in DUMBO and Fort Greene). they give out samples to reel you in…. nom nom nom.

Great post for the holiday. Last night I was around people eating yucky sweets and I felt a little left out. It’s a nice reminder that we have options too.

I really hope you write a post about Thanksgiving perhaps prior to the day. I like to bring my own food to family gatherings for the obvious reasons and I could really use some fresh ideas.

  31. I adore dark chocolate, although I don’t think I could live with all my other vegan dessert favorites too! I’m a huge fan of Ulimana’s raw chocolates.

  32. Patrick

PS. I saw this at Dean & Deluca in Soho today
