Hi guys!
As always, I am moved and thrilled with your comments on the “perfect” post. Thank you!
I now present you with some food porn:
The dish? Carrot avocado bisque and simple sushi rolls. To read all about it–and to get the recipe–please head over to my friend Zestycook’s blog, where I’ve got a little guest post up. Enjoy!
xo

So bright, colorful, and delectable!
Yum, yum, and YUM. That is all !
I read the article earlier this morning - I was so excited to see that you were being featured!!!!
I made the bisque FIRST THING this morning. You are, as always, a genius! Thank you for the awesome recipe, Gena!
I sent you an e-mail eariler today and I forgot to ask one question. Where could I find dulse? I went to a couple Asian markets today with no luck.
Definite food porn. Mmm.
I really enjoyed your perfect post. It’s good to remember that everyone has struggles. Life isn’t easy for anyone, no matter what it looks like to outsiders. Something I struggle to remember!
Please come cook for me. Now. I’ll pay you in dark chocolate and old fitness magazines.
I made cucumber rolls today! I was going to buy nori but it was too expensive for me at the time. Some day….haha
Great post! Thanks for sharing! I am going to make some raw nori rolls when I am done fasting!
Oh man. That looks awesome.
Actually, that looks like dinner tonight.
oh, what perfect inspiration for a Thursday night!
I happen to have ALL that on hand and need excuses to practice nori “wrapping” (because right now, mine aren’t the pretty variety)
congrats on the guest post!
very beautiful meal!
I love bisque! Wow, salad, sushi rolls, dipping sauce, and soup? A feast!!!
I predict I will be making my first attempt at a shushi roll soon… this looks way too good to pass up!
Please, woman. I already knew you was zesty.
Looks fab! Made the zucchini soup today, yummy!! Looks like I need to get some carrots… Love from Sweden
Carrot avocado bisque sounds sooo freakin’ yummy. I could live on avocados alone.
Hi Gena!
I love your blog and follow it regularly! … I wanted to ask you a question about your raw nori rolls. In the past, I have found that if I don’t coat nearly the whole nore sheet with something moist (like a nut pate or spread) the nori will not really soften and will stay almost crunchy and difficult to chew. I noticed you put a relatively small amount of your carrrot spread on the nori sheet, so I was wondering if there was some other secret to getting the nori to soften before eating?
Thanks so much!
Hey Lisa! Thank you for reading!
I have this issue too, but in this case I find that the sauce, coupled with the moist veggies, did the trick. Hope you find the same!!

I saw your Zestycook post this morning–great pictures and great post!
Looks like my kind of meal…the gazpacho too! Thanks Gena, as always xx
that bisque was wonderful…if only my juicer hadn’t died mid-way there would have been some to share! perfect balance of flavors, and I love the simple sushi! I made some last night using cauliflower “rice” and the carrot pulp from jucing. so good, so easy, so fun! I was too full to make the banana ice cream for dessert!
now i just have to review all my juicer options for a replacement…
btw. i forgot to ask (and prob could just as well email you this but whatever) can i get dulce at gary nulls? (and if so what section?)
