  1. Yay!!! I live in PA, and Philly is only three hours from me. I’ve been wanting to take a long weekend trip there…this would be perfect for a romantic night with my hub! Looks absolutely delicious!

  2. yay! amazing. great food photography btw. gorgeous!
Glad you and your friend had a good time ;) Though your time in philly was brief, NYC missed you.

  3. I definitely want to try this restaurant the next time I am in the area. The beets especially look incredible!

  4. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place! I’m from Philly, and now I can’t wait to try it!

  5. Oh my goodness… next time I go home with the hubby (who lives about 30 min. outside of Philly) we are definitely making a stop here!

Ahh! I went to Horizons for the first time a couple months ago and have been dying to go back ever since cause I fell in love with it! It was pretty much the best meal I’ve ever had. So glad you got to go!

  7. I LOVE the idea of a pistachio black truffle vinaigrette. Everything is so beautifully presented!

Yum! And agreed– everyone’s comments were really insightful and interesting!
My raw adventure this week was trying to get jamba juice to add my hemp protein to a frozen berry smoothie. No luck, but I was able to stir it in afterwards! Now I have a great new “fast food” option!

  9. Ooooh! I’ve wanted to go here for ages! Everything looks so delicious.

  10. You certainly have interesting eats there Gena…nothing that I have :) …but again, I am not raw or vegan…and truthfully just being much more chill with food…it is what it is…no guilt attached.
I just posted a post on some issues that u might be interested in. I link an article and a fantastic video that I think are both very thought-provoking and also I am very sure a starter for some heated debate. If you have a chance or desire to read.
Have a nice night and glad your trip went well.

  11. Mmmm, the food looks amazing, especially the creamy kale soup!

  12. You had me at roasted golden beets. Yum! Thanks for the restaurant foodie pics & info!

I’ve wanted to go there for a while. Even though I live in Philly (yay) it’s not always easy to get myself off campus and dine with friends…especially the carnivorous ones! Glad you had a good time in the city of brotherly love.

  14. I live near Philly and we went here recently. It was fabulous, although too expensive to go often. Glad you enjoyed!!

  15. Yum! Those pics look beautiful, I can’t believe you apologized for the photography! :) Everything looks delicious. I’ve been wanting to go there for awhile! Thanks for the review!

  16. YUM! Thanks for sharing! I think it is important to realize that any form of disordered eating is a symptom of a larger issue at work in the organism. Some people use drugs, others control their food intake, but they are both symptoms of low self-concept, depression, fear, etc…

I absolutely love your philosophy – that you can eat awesome raw food at home so you are not hung up on being strictly raw when you are in a new city or trying a new restaurant. I truly admire your healthy attitude toward food and raw foodism!

  18. Sounds like you had a great time and enjoyed some wonderful food with your good company :)

  19. Hot damn! 26 from Zagat? That’s not messing around. I’m ready for a field trip next time you want to hit that. ;)

  20. Oh man, I REALLY want to check out Horizons!

  21. I had no idea this was in Philly… and I live in Philly. Thank you!
