Beverages (Smoothies, Nut Milks, and Juices)

Hi Gena,
I regularly smoothie it in the AM, and am happy to see you’ve added to my recipe collection. I have a favorite I would like to share:
8 oz. rice milk – or almond, hemp, etc.
2 – 4 oz. coconut water (opt.)
3 – 4 tbl sp. hemp protein powder (I love Trader Joe’s vanilla flavored)
1 -2 tbl sp. flax (TJ’s roasted flax with blueberries is a winner here)
1/4 tsp. Vitamin C powder (opt.)
1/4 to 1/2 c. frozen blueberries
broccoli sprouts – small clump
banana
*Optional, seasonal ingredients:
fresh blackberries, raspberries, etc.
Blend all ingredients – I add that 4th tablespoon of hemp for a thicker smoothie and/or more frozen blueberries for more intense flavor
Warning: You WILL have to immediately brush your teeth with this one due to seeds and flakes…so, not a smoothie to take on the run unless you have a supply of floss readily available!

Thanks for your web site.. still learning heaps about being a raw vegan. Went totally cold turkey and straight onto raw vegan juices over 8 days ago.. Feel fantastic. wish some one had got me onto this before now. The whole family is on it and doing well other than the boys having a few cooked vego meals. We were a normal meat and spud family who had take out three times a week with no vego style foods to now being vegan. everyone has lost weight from 1-6kg and looks and feels great. Im off all meds and pain killers for my knee injury that has plagued me for over 12 mths even after surgery.. so I say bring on the juice of life!!
