Well, again, I am not raw or vegan..I am not a perfect eater at all either — I make many many mistakes (quantity , quality, etc)…but I enjoy seeing different lifestyles…and u certainly have presented a different kind altogether this past year. You should be very proud of your website and passion. Passion if nothing else is admirable. There are so many different lifestyles in the blogging world, quite interesting. By the way, avocados are the best thing ever. Have a nice start to 2010.

I really must eat something now, looking at all the gorgeous photos and knowing that each recipe is even more delicious than it looks is making me ready for an early lunch ;) A big and belated congrats on The Best Blog and the Best Website in the Best of Raw 2009. Even just this last post is an amazing reason why you (and Choosing Raw) deserve them both. Thank you for everything that you do, Gena, wishing you the best in the new year and beyond!

Hi Gena, Thank you for the run down on your favorite recipes! I can’t wait to try them all. Your blog has been an inspiration to me for some time, and I have never commented. The high raw vegan diet has been the ONLY successful diet I have tried to “cure” myself from persistent digestive distress. I have been eating raw for three months and everything from my constant cramping after eating to my dry skin has completely vanished. Thank you for your easy, delicious recipes that help me stay raw.

Oh what a great Top 10!!!
I think I’ve made my own tweaks/versions or just straight up, your version!, on 7 of the 10. I am just not a soup girl (two there) and the pizza cheese. But that one will need to get tried!

Of your top 10 list…faves. Well, I mean banana softserve is epic. Guac is always good. The way I make my peanut sauce and raw zuke noodles (similar to yours) is a huge fave. And anything in a collard wrap works.

KALE. Big omission girl, where is it?!! :) That’s daily for me.

And of course some sort of Raw Ball. I need my daily dose of raw balls (twss!)
xoxo

Gena, congrats on the award! You so deserve it! All I can say is thank you. Your knowledge, recipes and great attitude has been a huge inspiration to me. Thank you! (oh, my favourites are the guac (the best!), the marinara and the buttermilk and chive dressing, all staples in my kithchen)

Hi Gena,

Love this post. Your chocomole is one of my fave recipes!

I have a quick question: I was wondering if you would post some tips on making good “zoodles” in the next few weeks. I try to eat zucchini noodles when I can, but they always end up getting soft, mushy, and/or overly moist, and it makes me feel like I’m eating the inside of a pumpkin. Ick. So I’ve been avoiding zoodles, but I’d really like to try them again – if I could get them to look as crisp and delicious as yours!

Thanks!

Hi Gena, I have to say that when I first discovered your blog in August of 2009, I fell in love with the colours of your meals and the uniqueness with which you seemed to assemble the ingredients in your dishes and in your salads. At the same time that I fell in love, I was also afraid that I might not be able to re-create those meals! Can you believe I had never tried kale before until finally giving your massaged kale salad a go??

I love ALL your recipes – for how creative they are, how nutritious, and how simple! But if I had to pick one based on how many times I’ve made it (although I eat a kale salad probably every day, I’d feel bad to list it as a “Recipe”!) – I’d have to say the carrot falafel.

I have made it 7 times already. Is that crazy? I’m in love! :)

Hi Gena,

I have been folowing your blog for about a year now but don’t think that I have ever commented before. Just wanted to pop in and thank you for what you do! Your soft serve (with the agave/cacao sauce, of course) and the zucchini marinara sauce have become staples that are always requested by my normally meat-and-dairy-loving husband!

i find myself eagerly awaiting every new post from this blog…thanks to kristen suzanne’s link on one of her posts about NYC. now i’m hooked! i make the falafel on a weekly basis now, and i have no doubt that every other recipe of your’s is perfection. but seriously…that raw falafel is the bomb diggity. i have to be careful making it, as i eat quite a bit before it even goes in the dehydrator. i added dill and it makes it taste more like crab cakes. yum num num! thank you gena!
